Des Walsh is a business coach and an evangelist for the use of blogging and other new media in business and government. He was formerly a senior executive in the public sector, with responsibility for the development and management of national and state programs in education, the arts and public events. In 1988 he established his communications consultancy business and his coaching business in 2003.

Des is founding moderator of the LinkedIn Bloggers online discussion group for members of the LinkedIn online social networking site. He is a founding member of the Creative Skills Training Council, Asia-Pacific and Australia and a member of the Board of Governors of the International Association of Coaching.
